I took a tour with my school group of some major sights, and while crossing the Seine we paused on this bridge. Each chain-link side is decorated with closed locks, many of which bear inscriptions. There are thousands. Couples come here to add eternity to their love, as they hook their lock on to the bridge and throw the key into the river. Really romantic, as long as you disregard the combination locks sprinkled throughout—not so eternal. You win some, you lose some.
